

Quarterly Cookout - Port Ministry
On Saturday, 07 March 2026 the Cape Canaveral Council of the Navy League hosted a cookout for the Port Ministry in Cape Canaveral. We had an amazing turnout of Council members to support cooking chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs, and serving the hundreds of merchant mariners that were inport. We greatly appreciated everyone who gave their free time to make the event a tremendous success.

Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral - SOQ Event
Council President, Carl Cramb, had the distinct pleasure of recognizing MK3 Ventura with a certificate and gift card at a Sailor of the Quarter (SOQ) presentation on 02 March 2026. It was a distinct honor and a privilege to honor MK3 Ventura for his outstanding achievements over this past quarter.

CGC Alert - Certification Presentation
On Thursday, 26 February the President of the Cape Canaveral Council joined CDR Mario Gil (CO CGC Alert) in delivering the Order of the Ditch and Crossing the Line certificates to the crew of CGC Alert. During their recent deployment CGC Alert transited the Panama Canal and crossed the equator. Both are significant accomplishments for any mariner. The President of the Cape Canaveral Council was honored to be a part of this time honored celebration onboard CGC Alert.

Annual Inspection - Courageous Division (Sea Cadets)
Cape Canaveral Council President, Carl Cramb and fellow Board members, Dean Schaaf, Paul Julian and Joyce Clautice were present for the Courageous Division Annual Inspection. The cadets did a terrific job and earned excellent scores. It was another terrific performance by every cadet.

Margarita Island - Happy Hour (19 February)
The Cape Canaveral Council hosted a Happy Hour at Margarita Island in Merritt Island on 19 February. We were fortunate to have the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Commander in attendance. He provided a plethora of sea stories enjoyed by all. Everyone had a terrific time and enjoyed great food. Sailor of the Year Celebration - CGC Alert
On 05 February the President Cape Canaveral Council (Carl Cramb) had the privilege of honoring the CGC Alert Sailor of the Year (MT1 Kyle Ford). His superior performance set him apart from his peers and earned him this high award. MT1 Ford was presented with a certificate, Cape Canaveral Council Challenge Coin, gift card and one year Navy League membership.

On 19 February the Cape Canaveral Council will host a Happy Hour (5-7 PM) at the Margarita Island - Mexican Kitchen and Bar at 777 E Merritt Island Parkway, Merritt Island, FL. 2025 - Wreaths Across America
The Cape Canaveral Council received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Wreaths Across America organization for our efforts in 2025. It was a honor and a privilege to be a part of supporting such a terrific group. Naval Ordnance Test Unit Ceremony
On Wednesday January 21, our President (Carl Cramb) had the pleasure of honoring three exceptional sailors at the Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU) for their exceptional performance. The event recognized the high performers from the 4th Quarter of 2025 and 1st Quarter of 2026. Coast Guard cutter Vigilant returns to Florida after escorting recently seized motor tanker

Annual Partnership Request
In 2025 we were able to meet all Council obligations by the end of the year and enjoy some terrific events throughout the year. 95 percent of our expenditures went to youth programs and active-duty personnel support requirements. 75 percent went to the Courageous Division of the Sea Cadets, and 20 percent was divided among our active-duty personnel requirements at the Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU), CGC Alert, CGC Vigilant, and Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral. 5 perce

Holiday Dinner and Annual Meeting (04 Dec 2025)
We held our Annual Meeting and Holiday Dinner on the evening of 04 December 2025 at the Indian River Colony Club. A locla DJ played festive tunes and everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening to kick off the holiday season. Northrop Grumman provided a very interesting overview of the E-2D program. This critical plane to the Navy strike group is build in Florida for the Navy. We had some great raffle prizes to include a 50" TV. Only one person could go home with the TV though.

Wreaths Across America 2025
The Cape Canaveral Council is partnering with Wreath Across America. This is a terrific opportunity to honor our veterans by sponsoring a wreath in honor of a loved one who served in the armed forces or simply sponsor a wreath for one of the millions of heroes who rest in honored glory. Time Out Sports Bar Gathering
The Cape Canaveral Council hosted a gathering at the Time Out Sports Bar on 20 October 2025 from 1700-2100. The team at Time Out are exceptional and hosted us in remarkable fashion. We all enjoyed chatting and watching the Buc vs Lions NFL game. The food was terrific as always.
