Courageous Division - CPO Pinning Ceremony
On Thursday, 28 May 2026 President Cramb attended a Chief Petty Officer pinning ceremony for Jakob Southerland of the Courageous Division of the Sea Cadet Corps. This is an extremely hard achievement with less than 3 percent of all Sea Cadets achieving this milestone in their careers. Chief Southerland is a shining example of dedication and hard work. Maritime Day 2026
On Saturday, 23 May 2026 The Cape Canaveral Council of the Navy League co-hosted the annual Maritime Day celebration with the Port Canaveral Propeller Club. It was a solemn event commemorating those who have given their lives in support of our nation and thanking those that serve today. Coast Guard Birthday Dinner

Canaveral Port Ministry Support
On Saturday, 16 May 2026 the Cape Canaveral Council supported its second Cookout BBQ at the Canaveral Port Ministry. We served about 200 merchant mariners BBQ chicken, hambergers and turkey dogs. It was a terrific day with several Council members supporting the event. In addition, CDR Matt Zinn (Commanding Officer, Marine Safety Unit Port Canaveral) joined us and had a terrific time working the serving line .

Titusville HS NJROTC Awards
On 13 May 2026, President Cramb presented two Theodore Roosevelt Awards to two exceptional leaders at the Titusville HS NJROTC awards ceremony. In addition to presenting the awards President Cramb presented a check to the program so that four stellar cadets could attend a summer leadership program for all JROTC programs in the State of Florida. Auxiliary University National Program Charter
On Friday, 24 April 2026 President Carl Cramb attended the Auxiliary University Program National Charter Presentation at the Florida Institute of Technology. It is the first program of its kind in Brevard County and was three years in the making. Exceptional Civilian Service Award Dinner
On Thursday evening, 23 April 2026 the Cape Canaveral Council hosted its first Exceptional Civilian Service Award Dinner. The Council honored six individuals who stood out to our supported organizations. The awardees were not active-duty members or Department of War civilian employees. National Flight Academy
President Carl Cramb of the Cape Canaveral Council presented Cadet Carson Luck of the Courageous Division of the Sea Cadet Corps a scholarship to the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, Florida. Inputs were solicited from Titusville HS NJROTC, Bayside HS NJROTC, Palm Bay HS MCJROTC and Courageous Division of the Sea Cadet Corps. Cadet Luck will attend the Academy from 19-24 July 2024. Courageous Division CPO Pinning
On Thursday, 16 April 2026 Courageous Division of the Sea Cadet Corps hosted a pinning ceremony to honor Cadet Hayden Williams. She was promoted to Cadet Chief Petty Officer Hayden Williams. Less than 1 percent of sea cadets achieve this goal because of the extensive work required to achieve this honor. It is a tremendous accomplishment and it was a privilege to be present to see her promotion.

Military Kids 5K/Fun Run
April is the month of the military child and on Saturday, 11 April AVET hosted the Military Kids 5K/Fun Run. The Cape Canaveral Council supported the event with many other organizations. It was a great event for the children, terrific opportunity to talk with other veterans and military members and way to get the word out about the Council and all we do to support youth programs.

Medal of Honor 5K Run
On Saturday, 14 March Council President, Carl Cramb and Dennis Howden manned a table at the Medal of Honor 5K run at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center (BVMC). Several Medal of Honor winners were in attendance and presented the winning runners with their medals. Sea Cadets from Courageous Division and cadets from Titusville Navy JROTC participated in the 5K. It was a great opportunity to pass on information about the Council and engage many in the community.
