Annual Partnership Request

In 2025 we were able to meet all Council obligations by the end of the year and enjoy some terrific events throughout the year.  95 percent of our expenditures went to youth programs and active-duty personnel support requirements.   75 percent went to the Courageous Division of the Sea Cadets, and 20 percent was divided among our active-duty personnel requirements at the Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU), CGC Alert, CGC Vigilant, and Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral.  5 percent covered our overhead expenses which we continue to keep as low as possible.

2026 poses a new challenge with the likelihood that federal funding for the Navy League sea cadet program will again be cut.  This means there is an increased burden placed on the Division itself and a much larger burden placed on the parents of cadets to meet increased costs.  Therefore, our fundraising goal is higher to help with this greater demand.

A key way for us to reach our fundraising goals is through the generous partnerships with our members, community leaders and businesses.  Therefore, we have added a smaller monthly level donation ($5-$25) under the Seafarer's Club.  Hopefully this will make it easier for more individuals to partner with us.

For those still working I ask you to consider a partnership donation and to contact your place of business and see if they might have a matching fund process in place.  Many of you may know local businesses and be able to solicit a partnership donation from them.  I hope you will favorably consider one of our partnership tiers for 2026.  While we accept donations throughout the year, we would like to front load as many donations as possible in to the first six months of the calendar year to ensure we can meet our obligations for all of 2026.

If you want to make a partnership donation, or have questions simply reply to us at nlccc@live.com.  We will contact you in short order and work any issues.  If you want to simply pass on information on whom to call, we are standing by to make that happen.

Thanks for your support, Carl

President
