250th Navy Birthday Celebration Dinner

On 14 October 2025, the Cape Canaveral Council of the Navy League hosted a 250th Navy Birthday Celebration Dinner at the Indian River Colony Club. Representatives from Lockheed Martin, L3 Harris and Northrop Grumman attended. Congressman Haridopolis was unable to attend but he sent a brief congratulatory video and a representative (Keith Van Buren). Courageous Division Sea Cadets did a magnificent job providing the color guard. CAPT Jason Schneider stood in for our guest speaker who was unable to attend due to the government shutdown. A brief video provided by the Navy Historical Center highlighting the Navy's history was played. LTJG Heather Owen (Commanding Officer, Courageous Division Sea Cadets) was awarded the Scroll of Honor for exemplary performance over the past five years.

Each attendee received a commemorative challenge coin. Door prizes were distributed, a raffle of local community items was held and a silent auction of key items was conducted. It was a great turn out and everyone had an amazing.
